ID Theft Protection & Shredding Event

For the sixth year in a row, Community West Bank is hosting its FREE Identity Theft Protection and Shredding event on Tuesday, April 27th, 11am-1pm at its Ventura branch, 1463 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA, near the 99¢ Store.

This year, the Bank challenges members of the community to bring “TWO BOXES and TWO CANS”. Bring two boxes of personal documents for shredding in the on-site ShredRite truck and bring a minimum of two cans of food for FOOD Share, Ventura County’s food bank.

FOOD Share recently announced a 30-Day Call to Action, seeking the community’s help to restock its shelves with non-perishable food items during this time of serious need.

“We are pleased that our shredding event, which attracts over 200 citizens, can be a venue to collect canned food,” stated Lynda Nahra, Community West Bank President & CEO. “While there is no requirement to bring food to our free event next Tuesday, we have established a goal to collect 500 cans of food to help our community.”

All participants are limited to two boxes of documents for shredding. The boxes should be approximately the size of copy paper boxes. A representative from the Ventura County District Attorney’s office will also be present providing valuable information to protect oneself from identity theft and fraud.
