Sgt. Patrick Moug of the Livonia Police Department will be the featured presenter April 8 during a free seminar on identity theft.
Open to the public, the seminar will take place 11 a.m. to noon at Davenport University, 19499 Victor Parkway, Livonia, MI.
It is sponsored by Steve Swaggerty of Klassa, Swaggerty & Associates, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services Inc.
Identity theft is the fastest-growing crime, with about 10 million people becoming victims each year, according to the Federal Trade Commission. The U.S. Department of Justice reports that identity theft is replacing drug trafficking as the No. 1 crime.
